The orientation, location, and shape of the site, together with the investor’s requirements set the parameters for HOMA architects to work on:
- Relationship with the urban context
- Hotel image from the urban side.
- Seasonal sun directions
So “a style” is not something that can be developed and applied in the first place. The site will make its own choice of an architecture that fits it best.
Our job as architects was to analyze the important factors of the project such as surface areas, circulation, energy consumption, etc….
Then, we rigorously evaluate various master planning options before arriving at the most optimal solution. After that, it’s the building’s own job: it has to take shape and transform itself into the most suitable architecture to the design requirement.
Take the example of the facade design. For a place with a hot climate and sunny as Quy Nhon, an efficient sun shading solution is key to saving operational energy for the building.
We opted to prioritize the facade’s sun shading elements to devise the architecture, and inversely, use architectural elements (balconies, loggias…) to shade the Hotel’s facade, enhanced with facade greeneries. The combination of the solutions gives the building its unique architecture style.
