The Villa lies in a quiet street in Hai Phong. Its owner is a calm, private man, and a nature lover. For him, a house is a garden. The garden must be the first image that appears when he returns from work. The whole family’s happiness will be witnessed in that garden: friends’ gatherings, vegetables planted together, book reading… The garden will accompany his children’s memory.

To introduce a 240m2 garden into the building, we designed staggering stories, each having its own garden space and character. Stairs are placed to connect these multi-story gardens. One can take a walk across this large garden in both horizontal and vertical dimensions.

A modern fireplace keeps everyone warm and relaxed even in cold days and comes especially handy in the gloomy winter months of the North. It is no coincidence that French design included fireplaces in old colonial houses. They helped “heat up” walls and the building’s structures and minimize moisture on floors.

The garden next to the home library is a quiet space. This is a place for children to build their childhood memories and character through games played together. This is a place for adults to find their moments of peace and calm.

The rooftop garden is for growing organic vegetables. This is a place for children to learn how to connect with nature, work with their hands, a place for homemakers to share their products and more importantly to share their daily joys of manual work.
