Goldmark City apartment

The philosophy of a mixed spatial structure is applied in this Goldmark City apartment. The quiet side is the bedroom area: quiet and warm, should be used wooden materials for this place. The dynamic space is the kitchen and living room – an open area, two areas are integrated into one. This space is also located in the west so receiving a lot of sunshine. So the client prefers to use ceramics for this dynamic space. A boundary line will appear where the tile floor of the dynamic space and the wooden floor part of the static space. The design team does not intend to have that. The general strategy is no clear boundaries between spaces.

Dining space

The buffer space makes the connection between static and dynamic spaces – a sharing space of the whole family. Inspire by the name “buffer space, it is the soul of the apartment. Where members spend a lot of time together. Where there is worship. Because of its important role, the design team intentionally blurred the boundaries between spaces.

The design team uses  brick and wood interlayer technique to connect dynamic and static spaces. The aim is also to achieve the effect of defining spaces. At the same time, the slicing alternately brings comfort in terms of feel.

Celling

The ceiling is treated in an unusual way: sloping ceilings. The use of sloping ceilings both brings the feeling of being close to being in a grandparents’ house while increasing the height of the common living space. At the same time, we can create accents on the distribution of light on the ceiling. The ceiling will not be flat and boring like ordinary apartments.

Wall effects

In addition, paint colors define spaces and are personal. Warm wall paint colors are used in the sleeping and tea areas. That contrasts with the white walls in the kitchen and other rooms. We use Faux painting techniques to make the apartment walls more diverse. The ceiling is designed with a sloping ceiling. Thereby creating a feeling of closeness and increasing the height of the common living space. The tea drinking area is like the old tea house in Son Tay. We have placed shelves for family souvenirs in the hallway to create accents and record memories.
