Architecture design competition

This is an entry for the competition of architecture design for Swiss Radio & Television Headquarters in Lausanne

Lausanne is the capital of Vaud canton, Switzerland. A medium-sized city located to the northernmost point of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman), Lausanne is home to the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee and two large universities. This is also the travel hub for Vaud canton and has some of the world’s most famous skiing slopes.

The site is located in the middle of Lausanne’s academic zone: Lausanne’s Federal Polytechnic School Campus to the North, Lausanne’s International University to the East, the Rolex Learning Center to the West and Leman lake to the South.

The project concept envisaged by Homa architects consists of two elevated summits to the North and South; while lowering down the center to enable access to the roof and unlocking sweeping views across the site. The tapered area naturally forms common public spaces and harmonizes with ROLEX Learning Center.

The risen blocks and the accessible roof create platforms with expansive views of the lake and urban area. They are ideal for outdoor activities and interactions.
