The house brings peace and comfortable
Our design targets the following main goals, promoting comfortable:
- The garden landscape space combined with vegetable growing is friendly and attractive. Convenient for family fun and outdoor activities.
- The renovated architecture is suitable for local construction solutions and conditions to save costs.
- Adjust interior function rooms to have large enough living space. Space for 2 generations with 5 members to use for a minimum of 20 years.
- Add a small but comfortable studio for rent to increase family income.
Overview
We diveided the house’s architecture into two areas: static area and dynamic area. The static area is a block of bedrooms, expanded to increase the area. Thereby ensuring enough amenities for rest and recovery. The dynamic part is the living block such as: kitchen, living room and dining room space. The dynamic block is partially developed in the direction of the garage. The living room and dining room spaces have maximum access to the landscaped garden behind the house.
The roof with a completely new language resembles paper folds to bring light from the sky to the interior space. We locate the light spaces in the south to avoid direct sunlight from hot directions. The old and new roof systems are separated by a narrow glass roof. The large roofs face North-West, the dominant hot sun direction. Therefore we installed solar panels to regenerate energy for the house. The use of this new roof system creates height for the interior space as well as interesting light slots in the house.
We aim for a modern, simple interior style to create neatness, cleanliness and safety. The kids can play, but when needed, cleaning up becomes a snap.
We reserved a place for a rainwater tank, located on the fence next to the Studio, to store water during the rainy season for taking care of the backyard garden.
